Lahanti, meaning “Progressive” in the Santhal language, is a women-led initiative dedicated to uplifting rural tribal communities in Jharkhand. We work across six districts, focusing on women’s empowerment, education, child rights, safe migration, and sustainable livelihoods. Our mission is to build confident community leaders, support children’s education through scholarships, and create opportunities for women and youth to become self-reliant entrepreneurs. With a strong network of volunteers and local partners, Lahanti is committed to driving real, grassroots change and shaping a progressive, inclusive future for tribal families.
Empowering communities across Jharkhand through sustainable initiatives
We work across six districts of Jharkhand — Pakur, Sahebganj, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka, and Giridih — reaching over 1.5 lakh people through our various programs and activities.
Building rural women's leadership and economic independence through skill development and capacity building.
Providing scholarships and educational resources to ensure children have access to quality education.
Running campaigns against child trafficking and promoting child rights awareness in communities.
Facilitating individuals to become successful entrepreneurs through training and support.
Setting up Safe Migration Committees at Kathikund Block to prevent unsafe migration practices.
Nurturing local leaders (men, women, youth) to drive community development initiatives.
Engaging youth in discussions about rights, health, and social awareness for holistic development.
Securing government benefits and entitlements for marginalized communities.
